26 May to 27 May - FOC Dry Run!

Everything went reasonably well, but there were obvious kinks we needed to iron out in time for FOC! We tried out the Amazing Race on the first day, and I was "posted" at Cathay with Jolyn and Sok Hwei. Paid a hefty 7 bucks for a nice cold frappe which was basically our ticket to sitting down, and we came to realise some of the problems associated with the game, and tried to modify it. End result was that every group which came to the station played a different version of the game! Hopefully it's all improved and good to go right now.

Went back to hall to crash the night in Ceyi and Tommy's room, and ended up watching this channel 8 show which was pretty much like a chinese version of The Noose!

The second day was to test out the various sports and station games, and some were indeed pretty innovative, kudos to the Programme team. The day finished rather late due to the flag painting session dragging on for ages, but finally at close to 10pm we trudged our way to Aston's near Buona and thankfully it was still open! That must've been the most satisfying meal I've had in a long time ;o

28 June - Chen Hian's B'day

Vesak day too haha. We met up at Fish&Co at the Glass House, and were surprised to find the LOVE sign gone! Haha how long has it been gone man. I still remember it being a really really common display picture on everyone's Friendster account, but then again I'm talking about Friendster so that must have been quite a long time ago.

Anyway, we had dinner (duh), and the Fish&Co staff surprised Chen Hian by singing her a birthday song and making her stand on the chair to blow out the candle.

We wandered around the area after dinner, never really deciding on what to do. We decided on Tau Huay, but the place was really full, and we wandered over to Mac at Paradiz, but that was full as well. We decided to buy takeaway Tau Huay and sit down somewhere, but when we got to NAFA the security guard chased us away. Chen Hian left a while later, and the rest of us went to Mac at Bugis to chat. We lingered for too long though, and Yong Bing and I missed the last bus 12 back to the East by seconds. We took 197 to Bedok, but YB missed his stop and I had no plan B on how to get home after reaching Bedok, so we both ended up taking cabs home. Pretty retarded in hindsight haha.

29 June - NTU Open

Joined together with Hao Jun, Prasad, Daniel, and Roy and some of his friends. They were all late! Like incredibly late. Daniel and I arrived first, and the organisers asked us to register, but we had no clue who was in our team, how many of us were there, and when the rest would arrive. The organisers even had to shift our fixture back because we didn't have enough to start haha. Incredibly malu.

Eventually we played our first match! It was against a team in pink, and while we weren't abject we received a thorough 5-0 trashing as they were better organised in general and took their chances well. Our second game we managed to win though, and the pink team beat the other team as well in the final game in our group of three, so we somehow progressed despite the heavy defeat in our opening game. Our first knockout-round opponents were the team with the Arjen-Robben lookalike who was half a head taller than me and the other speedy ang-moh though. We didn't play too shabbily, and in fact managed to match them for most of the game, but the towering Robben dude headed in a goal and we conceded a second goal soon after as we tried to chase for a goal, so there's our exit from the competition.

The weather was crazy! We sat in the air-conditioned lobby of the Safra after we showered, and ten minutes later we were still sweating! That must have been the third sunburn I've gotten in this semester break haha. We went to Tampines Mall to have lunch after that. We each downed a large coke from Long John Silver's while eating in the Food Court haha. That was how hot it was!

31 June - Pharm BBQ

Went down to BK's place after work. The BBQ was.... indoors, with a small grill instead of outside at the BBQ pit. Part laziness, but mainly because it was raining earlier. There wasn't much to do, so we mainly talked, carefully avoiding the topic of results which came out that morning.

1 June - Pre-ICT KAH Meeting and LAN Outing

Went back to Nee Soon Camp for the pre-ICT meeting for Key Appointment Holders, and other than acquainting myself with the training programme, I must say the meeting wasn't very productive. There wasn't much for me to comment on or enquire about, so I was merely passively absorbing what people were saying.

Hitched a ride from Yong Tong, my 2IC, to Yishun, then made my way down to Dhoby to meet Deren, Kwee Haan and Belinda, who each laughed at me because I hadn't changed out of my No.4 Uniform. After a change in a terribly crowded Plaza Singapura male toilet, we went for a quick dinner at the Food Court, before another epic Left 4 Dead 2 session haha. We've improved visibly, as we managed to get good timings for most of the campaigns we played =p

2 June - KBox with the Redang Gang

I'm not a KBox person, because I'm quite fail at singing, but it turned out well! Chen Hian and Boon Hou couldn't make it though, and that was quite a pity as we had tons of fun. I thought I was really reluctant to sing but Sarah was worse haha. We all went crazy in our own ways as the night wore on. I did some crazy things which are un-postable on FB if I want my reputation to be intact. Basically it involved Coco Lee and the Wonder Girls haha. That's all I'm gonna tell you. Jason was over the moon singing some random love song, but all we can remember was him singing the three words "I Love You". Yong Bing was once again perpetually pissed, and this time he was exasperated at having to sing as the female so many times. Nicholas is crazy enough normally already, so not much difference there. Ditto Yan Zhen =p

A non-stop sequence of Mayday songs took the breath out of all of us, and soon after it was 3am already. We slacked the rest of the night away at Macs. And that was the craziest thing I did: I, who had come from work, didn't sleep either, and left Macs at 7 to go back to hall to shower, before heading back to work again. Haha coffee kept me going strong during the morning, but I noticeably struggled after lunch. Thankfully I was still able to maintain my efficiency at work!

4 June - Many Random Stuff

Went to KTPH for the first time in the morning, and almost lost my way trying to locate the Pharmacy in the basement. It was a freaking maze! There were barely any signs and every corridor looked the same. That being said, the new hospital looked really nice and big haha. There was an abundance of space and computer terminals in the office! No more coming early to work to chope a computer like at AH haha.

Left to meet up with Kwee Haan at Yishun after lunch, then in turn we met up with Zhi Xue and Jiayuan to pick up stuff from NHG, which we dropped off at the PS room, but not before I took a detour to IT Coop to pick up my laptop... which I didn't manage to because they needed half an hour and I didn't have time. Haha. Sounds complicated I know. Anyway I didn't have time because we rushed down to Vivo after that to have our FOC Meeting. Had dinner at Seah Im with Deren and Kwee Haan after the meeting, where I found the best Tom Yam food in Singapore ever. It was so good, I think the only better one I have tasted was Sai Yok Camp's in Thailand! Went back to school after that to pick up my laptop for real, from CeYi whom I got to collect the laptop from IT Coop on my behalf.

10 June - Tennis

Played tennis for the second time in my life with Zuo Yi, Daphne, Zirui and Aaron at Aaron's place. We were still terribly amateurish at it, but Zuo Yi likes my serve haha. Went for dinner at Laguna after that, and had a good but somewhat sinful meal of Bak Chor Mee, oyster omelette and chicken wings. Mmmm.

12 June - 30 SCE Outing & World Cup at ZY's

Watched A Team with William, Daniel, John and Ching Hwa. The movie was surprisingly good! It was a little over-the-top but never got too incredulous, and the humour was clever and witty. The plot was also reasonably good, with a few clever but not completely unpredictable twists thrown in.

Went IT fair after that, and I picked up a laptop cooler, but didn't manage to find any nice and cheap external speakers. Talked to Cheryl a bit (she was selling antivirus software!) before leaving, and we had dinner at the food court. Went home and was out again in an instant, this time on Zirui's car to ZY's place for some World Cup action! I had invited Deren along as Zy was keen for us to invite more friends along. Anyway the action wasn't quite memorable haha but our supper was. We went to Simpang to have prata, and we got a Banana and Ice Cream tissue prata to share. Or actually I ate most of it heh. It was such a monster, the same as how we remembered it. I swear I'm not gonna touch ice cream for quite a while after this.

14 June - 2G '02 Casual Meetup

Met up with Chuck, Shuqi, Shimin, Jeremy, Daniel Chow, Ivan, Timothy Fang and Kar Keat at Tampines 1 for dinner at BBQ Chicken. The food was reasonably priced, but the service was somewhat poor and the food was okay at best. Still, the company was good, as we caught up with one another about what has happened in the years that we haven't met. It must have been at least half a decade since I last spoke in person to most of them :s

I started a Facebook group for the class after that, as they requested, and various people uploaded various photos from 2002 haha. Super unglam! Gosh, we were... kids! :x

15 June - Hanabi Buffet

It was meant to be a Pharm outing of some sort, but it ended up being only Belinda, Kwee Haan, Deren and I again, much to our disappointment. The four of us might be a clique, but it was never meant to be an exclusive little group that stuck to itself! If we weren't keen for others to come, we wouldn't even have invited anyone else to join us. So the next time you see an event organised by any one of us, please don't assume it's a little Fantastic Four outing and decide against coming ):

On a happier note, the food was good! We tried out practically the entire menu, minus the fried stuff and filling stuff, and had many platters of sashimi.

Went to chill out at Macs after that. Seriously, Macs is such a convenient place to chill out haha. Reminds me of an article about Macs that I read about for my SS module.
