11 May - Sentosa with the Pharmers
Organised by Nicholas, who didn't turn up for the event haha because of his Special Sem class. The skies started to look pretty dark the moment we reached, and it proceeded to pour for a bit. We were undaunted by the rain and simply carried on with our volleyball and Captain's ball in the rain. Not that I need any tanning. I'll explain why in a bit. Anyway the rain dampened our mood a little (no pun intended) and we left rather early, to have a late lunch at Thai Accent. The tom yam soup was ridiculously sour. Made me miss the real deal that I had in Thailand!
12 May - Reuben's Birthday Celebration
We booked a massive corner of Shokudo for this, and I guess it was too big a group because it was near impossible to get to talk to everyone! We did table-hop to talk to others though, so I guess it was alright. I honestly can't remember what we ate, except that the guy burnt my rosti so I had to wait for another fifteen minutes all over again.
13 May - FOC Meeting
Informed the committee of the cash sponsorships I have secured. I can almost hear the collective sigh of relief.
14 May - Random LAN Outing
Went to collect the goodie bags for the Engin Beach Carnival in school with Kwee Haan, who then organised a very impromptu LAN outing, calling Nicholas, Kerwin, Winston, Belinda, Qi Xuan and a Jason who never turned up. We played L4D2 to hilarious effect. Kerwin was the oblivious survivor who never saves anyone, Nicholas was the FAIL Hunter who walks instead of pounces, while I was the overly garang guy who always tries to rush ahead and dies in the process.
15 May - Engin Beach Carnival
First sunburn of the holiday. It was ridiculously hot! Anyway we very nearly had to play with one person down, because we couldn't get the minimum number of 2 girls to play for us. That would have ensured a thorough walloping. Thankfully, we managed to convince Bao Wen to play for us in between the games she had to be an umpire for. Elaine and Semie also helped us to play several games later on. We dominated a game or two, and did well to score quick goals before parking the proverbial bus in front of goal later on, to secure consecutive victories and proceeded to the semi-finals. We lost 4-1 in the semis though, due to a combination of lack of marking, superior movement by the opponents, and, irritatingly, lots of whining and influencing-the-referee by one or two of the opponent players. Despite the loss, we went on to win the 3rd-4th placing match, and therefore ensured we didn't end up empty-handed.
16 May - Redang Trip!
Sheer awesomeness. Haha more about the trip another time.
21 May - First day of work, back at AH
After all the excitement of the past week or two of holidays it was time to settle down and do some work to recoup all the expenditure heh. Not that I'm doing this work purely for money. I'm honestly quite excited about the move to the new hospital, though it doesn't quite affect me at the moment.
