I think... I just might retrospectively blog about what happened this entire sem haha. It's been a crazy four months, not in a bad way, but I've been incredibly busy.

I've now officially moved out of hall! I think many people found it ridiculous that I went back to stay for this last week after the exams have ended, but I assure you I am not crazy, nor drunk, except perhaps on Saturday night haha. But I had already paid for this duration of stay, and I was pretty much going to be playing games mainly, I might as well stay at hall. The internet connection there is even better than that at home, because my modem gets cranky when I use wireless and besides I have to share the connection with my sister.

Going back hall on Monday night to a room which had no notes, textbooks and everything academic related felt great haha. Tommy had ended his last paper that day, so we went out for supper at Ameen. It was a pity some of them still had papers so, so it was pretty the same few of us.

Went for a run on Tuesday morning with Tommy and Ceyi, and I think all the mugging+eating without exercise had caught up with us haha. We barely made it up the PGP slope, and stopped running by the time we were at the University Hall slope. To think I wanted to run the extended route to West Coast Plaza! We did, however, regain some of that lost fitness with further runs in the next few days, including a reverse run which was much easier than our usual route heh.

Went to watch Iron Man 2 on Tuesday. Iron Man was awesome, and for once the superhero did not keep his identity secret, and that was a refreshing change. Now I'm going to issue a SPOILER ALERT for those who haven't watched the movie. Robert Downey Jr hasn't lost much of his charm from the first movie, with his sheer arrogance and narcissism leading to lots of clever dialogue and witty humour. The movie had its fair share of action and breaks in between, so you don't quite get overwhelmed by it as, say, Transformers (oooh, debatable point here, but that's another story for another time). Not to say that the action scenes were insufficient. Quite the contrary. All the moments in between give us a breather where necessary. Moments such as Tony making Pepper the CEO of Stark Industries, and all the scenes showing how the palladium that his arc reactor is running on is, while sustaining him, is also, ironically, killing him by poisoning him slowly. Then the moment you start to yearn for more action, the movie gives it to you in dollops. The attack at the Monaco race track, the showdown between Tony and his best buddy Rhodes, the penultimate fight sequence where Tony and Rhodes (now War Machine!) joins forces to defeat the drones, and the climatic battle between the two of them and our villain. These are all pretty awesome! Perhaps one complaint was that the climatic battle was too short, but other than that the action scenes were pretty much sufficient for the fanboy in us.

Most of all, I enjoyed the humour in the movie though, because it was witty. As much as movies like, say, Bruno (which I watched during the previous weekend heh) can draw out laughs from me, intelligent jokes are almost always infinitely better in my books. Quote of the movie was probably in the last scene, where the senator reluctantly gives out awards to Tony and Rhodes, and deliberately pricks Tony with the badge, before commenting "Surprising, how annoying, a little prick could be, huh?" Hahaha. That's humour I dig! I hope you get my drift (:

Celebrated Winston's birthday belatedly at Marina Square on Thursday. It was a simple and quiet affair, but hey it's the thought that counts right haha. We had dinner at Imperial, but made no plans past dinner, so we sort of wandered around and stopped to try to think of where we could go, before we wandered around some more. We ventured into Azabu Sabo, then realised that we could not buy the take-away ice cream to eat in the restaurant, and we left without ordering anything, which was somewhat embarrassing. Belinda wanted to play L4D2, but somehow though a few of us were keen the idea never really took off. We ended up going to Mac to have ice cream and various drinks that were way too sweet and diabetes-inducing, and chatted about random topics. Funny thing was, we actually did that during the last semester break as well heh.

Ceyi went home on Friday, so I went for lunch at Dover for probably the last time with Tommy. Why the last time? Well, apparently the place's gonna undergo renovation, so it should be gone for some time after renovation begins. Anyway, putting the nostalgia aside, we had the usual chicken rice which I usually ate, and I also had my tau huay fix, but the chwee kueh stall was gone! I thought my memory had failed me haha it took me a couple of seconds to register the fact that the empty stall there was indeed the chwee kueh stall.

Was homehall alone that night, so I decided to go for a solo run for once. I ran the reverse around-NUS route. It was about 7 plus already, so it was really great weather to run in. I do enjoy the runs with, well, pretty much everyone else whom I have ran with this sem (Deren, Kwee Haan, Zhi Xue, Nicholas, Tommy, Ceyi, Weiquan... haha too many to list them all!), but a solo run is great in its own way as well. Enjoying the pretty evening sky illuminated by the setting sun, feeling the gentle breeze, running on the road to overtake passers-by who refuse to give way despite hearing your footsteps, catching sight of some KE7 eye candy (haha). All at your own pace!

Saturday night was our last night in hall! We had dinner at Macs because there were only three of us (Si Hui, Ceyi and I) and we were lazy to go anywhere far, plus Si Hui were waiting for her parents to come (though they were already 8 hours late by then haha). We played the impossible quiz, the impossible quiz TWO, and helped Si Hui to move her mountain of belongings when her parents (eventually) arrived. Speaking of which, she literally had a mountain of stuff to bring home haha. The moment she opened her room door, I thought I was seeing the combined belongings of the inhabitants of a double room lol. Anyway, we ended up moving her fan, water heater and various other items, including a glass table belonging to her neighbour, back to Ceyi's room, which was also holding items such as Johnson's fridge, Wen Jun's fridge, Hong Shing's fridge, and lots of other random items from all of us. Just because they were staying for the vacation and we were lazy to move these items back home haha.

Eric, Wen Jun, Ah Chua and Hong Shing came back at various times that night, and we played cards and drank the night away. It was all under control until we played poker and made bets that increased gradually from 1 to 2 all the way to 10 ladle-scoops of alcohol. We all got semi-drunk, and did lots of stupid things. At least I could remember the things we did, so I guess I wasn't all that drunk haha. Tommy started to eat crackers, then started dropping them all over instead of successfully putting them in his mouth, then he picked them all up and putting them back into the packaging lol. Wen Jun became completely red, and staggered back to his room to pack just in case he woke up late and had no time to pack tomorrow, but he barely had any belongings to pack lol. I staggered along to him room with him, but somehow in my drunken state I paused by the pile of discarded items by the bin, picked up a discarded magazine, and started to flip through its pages. Just some examples of the random things we did heh.

I wanted to include some photos in here, but I guess Facebook doesn't want to cooperate, so you'll have to manually go to my FB to take a look! So long!
