Phew, what a crazy two weeks. Visiting was actually nothing special except for the fact that it happens only once a year. It was a lot of sitting around, snacking and watching TV! Haha nonetheless it was a nice break from school and all.
Went to my 大姑's place on Monday. It was funny how my family members took turns to play blackjack, changing member every time we thought our luck has changed for the worse haha. I think we lost quite a bit overall though, despite our initial success XD Went to Zuo Yi's place on Tuesday. It feels a little weird visiting his family for CNY when he isn't even around in Singapore! Daphne went as well and Liting also invited a few of her friends over, and thankfully I had met two of them before so it wasn't quite as awkward. Dinner was great, but maybe they had overcooked haha considering that I was the only male there aside from Zuo Yi's dad =p We played the Wii after that, and my how I have deteriorated at my Wii tennis haha. Looking good at baseball though! ;o Then it was back to hall on Wednesday evening! Went for steamboat with the 30 SCE peeps on Thursday evening. I thought our appetite was quite poor; everyone ate super little! Some setting was off or something, so my camera couldn't take shots properly, which explains the lack of photos. Still, managed to capture a few proper shots! Or about as proper as photos with them can be. Case in point: ![]() We playes LAN after that, for less than two hours in fact. Nicholas joined us while we were LAN-ing, and that was the first time I had gotten to see him since he got back haha. After the LAN, we were roped in to make Mission: Impossible possible! Even then, we only accomplished our mission at 3.30am, and by the time I was back on my bed in hall it was almost 5am haha. Friday was, unfortunately, still not the start of my mugging. Went for the Pharmacy cohesion thingy with all the Pharmacy department staff with Deren, Kwee Haan, Yong Sheng and the NUSPS Exco. Had lunch at an Indonesian restaurant called Tambuah Mas (I think). The food was good, but I think it was a little too spicy for other people haha. There was tofu goreng, sotong, kangkung, fish and lots of other Indonesian cuisine. Not to mention a delicious Chendol dessert. *slurps* After lunch was bowling! I think quite a few of the staff left to shop or whatever haha. Only a handful remained with us students, and we had four lanes to ourselves for 2 hours. It was frustrating how I kept getting 9 pins knocked down on almost every other attempt! Like, so close yet soooo far haha. We had a phantom player who was registered in our lane but didn't appear, and so we took turns to bowl for "YCW". We kept shouting comments about YCW haha only to sudden realise much later that "YCW" was probably Prof Yap. Oh well ;o Surprising thing was, YCW pretty much played the best among the four of us. Haha looks like our combined bowling prowess triumphs over that of each one of us =p Saturday and Sunday was pretty much spent on figuring out what exactly has been going on for the past few weeks in my elective module, Color and Vision. As interesting as the module had been for me so far, it was also incredibly frustrating as the concepts taught were rather abstract, and furthermore I only had O Level Physics background! Had the C&V midterms on Monday! It went somewhat better than the first test, though it's still quite bad in itself. Let's hope I do better this time (:
