It's been a week since my last blog post, and here I am wondering where the last week has gone. I guess I have adapted somewhat to living in hall. It isn't very different from living in an army camp to be honest haha and the main difference is this thing I'm typing on right now called a laptop. Sadly my home desktop is down and that means that I have to lug this thing home every weekend when I
Anyway back to hall life. Had a hall activity workshop on Wed and I duly signed up for my third and final activity (which I will hopefully get) and that is to be in the Block Committee. Felt that it would be a good opportunity to get to know people from my Block better in the long run! And because Weiting recommended haha. Thursday was a relatively free day, and Friday there was a briefing on hall points. Sadly activities outside of hall did not count towards points for hall stay, so there goes any hopes of using my NUSPS stuff =p Went to work on Friday as well, and Kuding came along for a short attachment to the Cardio Pharmacist clinic. Apparently he was pretty inspired by his experience and Doreen's eloquence haha. I hope I can get more of my peers to be inspired in a similar way, and in time to come, be as inspiring as Doreen! Anyway I was pretty much left to my own devices while Doreen was at her clinic, so I had to figure out some of the functions of SPSS on my own. I think I did okay, but many things were beyond me and for some reason I did something wrong with the survival curves that they somehow converged at the end though I'm positive they should not. Oh well. Saturday and Sunday were nice and quiet for a change. I got some much needed "me"-time, slacking at home, going out with my mum for a bit and playing lots of my newly acquired Football Manager 2010, aka my "sixth module" FM2010 haha. I'm still not quite used to the game's system and mechanics since the last version I played was the ancient FM05/06. But I love inserting ridiculous open-ended comments into the press conferences I hold in the game since the open-ended comments don't affect anything and merely exist for comedic value (in my case that is). So when I'm commenting on Chelsea's league position, somehow I'll add extra comments like "John Terry looks terribly old". Today was a bad day. Not that anything really bad happened, and actually good things happened since I made some progress in my marketing efforts for FOC 2010, but it's just a day where even if good things happen your mood is kinda down. Maybe it's the fatigue getting to me, what with the lack of sleep these few days (speaking of which, it's 11.18pm now oh no!), or maybe 4 lectures in a row is insane (actually, it is), but I just looked at the lecturer's slides with a blank gaze for pretty much everything Physical Pharmacy onwards. By the time my last lecture came I was merely there to picnic on Hello Panda and sleep haha. Terrible. Oh, my schedule for this week is bad. Maybe that's also driving my morale down a little! Here's a preview of things to come (and things I'll miss, but thought I'll jot down anyway) Tuesday aka tomorrow *PPAC meeting in the morning *LSM lecture *Trip down to AH again to work on the IPAC data once more *Meeting with a potential sponsor for FOC back at NUS at 7pm. Wed *E-Med Meeting *Physical Pharm Lab (aka lessons as per normal) *Soccer training Thu *NUSPS Sports Carnival Fri *Helping out at JSS Bazaar for a total of 4 hours spread out over the day, in between (and all around): *LSM lecture and physio tutorial. All these will end at 6pm! *Soccer training, which I will probably end up missing. *Raffles Hall Orientation at 7pm Sat *Raffles Hall Orientation continues *Cannot make it for E-Med meeting in the morning any more *Sharon's wedding, at the expense of RH Orientation. No choice; already promised to go quite some time back! *Nick's birthday party, which I'll probably miss because it was rather short notice Sun *Last day of Hall Orientation! Mon *Nothing on yet, but the usual lecture marathon is bad enough ): Tue *Back to AH for meeting with Prof Ng together with Doreen! ...and so on. Oh well. In a sense I deserve it. Maybe I've bitten off more than what I can chew. But no matter. Rant is over. I shall persevere and excel in all these! Wish me luck haha. I'll need it (:
