I realised my previous blog entry sort of spoke for the future, so I won't repeat all the things I've been doing over the past one and a half weeks, except to emphasise again that I've been extremely busy XD
The Sports Carnival (wasn't quite a carnival though since only one sport, Captain's Ball, was played) was fun! Pharmacy students from all years turned up, with about 2 teams per year. We had 2 teams of year 1s, and I was bounced from one team to another until I settled without the rest of the 183 Club in Group B, with Qi Xuan and co. And both teams did the year 1s proud! We won our respective groups and met in the finals, where we lost to the team which boasted Zhi Xue's height and Deren's suspected web-slinging abilities and spidey senses (how else do you explain how he catches those ball which were seemingly out of his reach?) Anyway we got a $50 and $30 dollar voucher respectively, and we're gonna have an ice cream feast soon! Yay. Poor Zhi Xue; he doesn't eat ice cream I think D: Fast forward to Friday... we were supposed to have a friendly soccer match against KE7, but apparently the Einstein and Quantum Weirdness (or whatever that Physics module was) people booked all three fields for star-gazing. And no, we couldn't just switch on lights that faced away from them either, because the "dust particles will cause light to scatter" and whatever, quoted the Prof. Star-gazing in Singapore is pretty fail in my opinion though, and I'm not saying this because I'm annoyed our match got cancelled. It's just too bright! They should go to Pulau Ubin/Tekong or some random offshore island. Stars are beautiful there (: Hall Orientation from Friday to Sunday was fun! It was a little ridiculous when I first joined the orientation (late, because of soccer training at hard court after being chased off by the star-gazers), as they played weird stuff involving lots of bananas. Saturday started off with supporting the handball team. The later portion of the day was cool as they went to do a freeze mob, first at Central Forum as a trial run, before doing the actual thing at Vivocity. Too bad I wasn't there though, because I went to attend Sharon's wedding! I'm not a Christian, but there's something about church weddings that makes it more heartwarming than, say, an ordinary wedding dinner. We had SP games that night, but there were unfortunately more guys than girls, resulting in the formation of 9 pairs of gay buddies. And coincidentally, my SP was none other than Kwee Haan! It was seriously quite hilarious as we argued over who to be the male and the female at the various stations. Speaking of coincidences, at the station where we had to pick a page out of a colouring book to colour as our "couple drawing", I spotted a space shuttle, with stars around it, cruising past a planet with a ring. Basically, it had an identical concept with our FOC logo! So the moment I saw it I knew we had to take that haha. Sunday afternoon were games. We played Captain's Ball first, using first an ordinary netball, then followed by a raw chicken (yes you read that right!), a cabbage, and finally a honeydew. After that we played a dodgeball-style game where each team had to dash across the takraw court while avoiding items like tofu, tomatoes and water bombs. Then we donned on "war paint", which consisted of peanut butter and toothpaste, and learned the Raffles Hall Hakka! I'm not sure if everyone can view it but it's here: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=271541919690&ref=mf Lastly we had a tug of war. While we lost the first one because it was sheer chaos and we were pulling at the wrong times, we came back strong and won the second one quickly, by first holding on and not pulling, and starting to pull when the opponents tired out. Had BBQ that night, and watched a skit which was basically Cinderella RH style! I can't recall all the characters but Amos was Cinderella while Kwee Haan was the prince haha. Went back to school on Monday, with like 11 hours of sleep in the previous three nights. I seriously owe myself quite a bit of sleep XD
