FOC Meeting on Monday at Vivo Starbucks, then it was work and work for the next three days! Haha sometimes I'll wonder why I'm working when this holiday was already so short, and when people ask me why I'm so hardworking I don't really have an answer. But I guess it is natural for me to go back and continue with the IPAC database I helped Doreen start previously. Everyone likes to see their plans and actions culminate in some positive outcome, so in the same way I wanted to be there to see this project through to its end (or the end of this phase, for it's an ongoing data collection process).
Results day was on Tuesday, and following Yong Sheng and Kwee Haan's SMSes early in the morning my phone breathed its last breath in its valiant attempt to send out my replies haha. Its display is basically fried. And now I'm back using my army phone, which is, frankly, quite a pain to use. SMS-typing is brutally slow on this phone, and for some strange reason only 160 out of all the contacts saved on my SIM card is carried over, and the names are all garbled up as well. Which basically translates to me losing lots of contacts haha. Don't be surprised if you message me and receive a "sorry, you are?" back right away =p Met up with Alaric, Enci, Noga and Ying Hui on Wednesday to discuss our plans for setting up a Rovers Unit. Frankly speaking, I can't see myself contributing to this significantly, given my other commitments in the year ahead, and I told them about it. Now I'll have to make a final decision whether I want to be a part of this. Hmmm. Zuo Yi came back on the 24th! Unfortunately I had a last minute "call-up" to go back to work haha to rush some last minute work, so I couldn't go to the airport. Nevertheless, we met up in the afternoon at Tampines 1's Teadot to... well, to talk over tea. It was nice catching up with him again after these few months of absence. University life at Georgetown certainly sounds exciting! Haha especially being able to start up a small company of his own. Certainly different from Singapore's culture, where academic grades are still arguably top priority! ![]() Went out with the Pharmers again yesterday! We had lunch at Swensen's, a whopping 25 of us taking up an entire stretch of tables. They celebrated the December babies' birthdays! Haha I was honestly surprised! Basically we got treated to lunch, Earthquakes and the movie (Avatar! Awesome show! More on that later). There were lots of gifts distributed haha from the people who went for holidays overseas as well as X'Mas gifts. It was nice catching up with everyone again, and complaining about grades, complaining about module bidding, and complaining about complaining haha. Even being suan-ed by Belinda about sucking at Left 4 Dead 2 was fine haha. After lunch, we went to watch the aforementioned Avatar (not in 3D though). The movie was simply epic. I think this sums the movie up quite nicely haha. The scenes were breathtakingly beautiful! Little wonder the production cost $310m haha. I think I might write a short personal review in a separate entry sometime soon. Gotta go now, EPL action at Zuo Yi's place! :D
