As a "reward" for myself, I left the very last episode of Kyle XY, that is episode 10 of season 3 and 43rd episode overall, for after Anat CA2!
I thought there were quite a few loose ends to tie up, and while I was sad to see the show end (like forever, because they are not going to produce the show any more), I was also eager to see how all these issues would be resolved. Some were resolved, but others weren't. In fact, there were even more questions added than answered, and it was really frustrating to see the show end like that. Spoilers alert! Skip this blog entry if you don't want to spoil the show for yourself, or if you can't care less about our navel-challenged hero XD Anyway, the only issue that seems to have resolved nicely are all the relationships save for Kyle's. Declan seems to be going along fine with Jackie, and Lori with Mark. Josh and Andy are pretty much still in love and thanks to Declan's help, they can also communicate long distance with a very improvised webcam (weird how they can't just get a regular webcam). Kyle, however, is in a fix. Jessi gives him "electricity", but Amanda gives him butterflies! He's not sure why he has feelings for both girls at the same time, and coupled with the facts that Jessi still believes she and Kyle should be together and that Amanda wants to get Kyle back, it's one complicated love triangle that begs to be resolved. Other questions also remain unanswered. Nate is still a threat who knows Kyle's secret, so what is going to happen to him after he wakes up? In the meantime, how does Mark help Kyle by buying time for him? Is Mark going to find out the true purpose of Latnok? What about Tom Foss, who disappears for most of the season, then comes back for one minute in the previous episode to help Kyle and Jessi, and then disappears again? What happend to the Tragers; where has Cassidy taken them? Who is Grace Kingsley, and is she really Kyle's biological mother, thus making Cassidy Kyle's half-brother? Or is Cassidy merely lying to save himself? Is Kyle going to kill Cassidy? It's also interesting to see how Kyle has changed from an innocent child to someone who is willing to use lies, deceit and even violence (as shown by how he planned for Jessi to torture Cassidy into revealing Latnok's true plans) to take down a supposedly greater evil. That being said, it's not something you bring up in the last half an hour of the show and not develop it further. All in all, while still a great episode, it's not a very awesome end to a very awesome show. I hope someday in the future, someone will pick up on this series and continue it. That's the least we deserve ):
