Another belated update! I mentioned in my previous post that there was a lot to my soccer game on which I could improve, and one of it is my close control. Apparently, given a lot of space, I can easily beat others with my speed, but in the match we played at Changkat Primary (or was it Secondary?) on the 18th, which was played on an extremely tiny field, I couldn't get the space I thrived on and was limited to few meaningful contributions. The match played out to a 3-3 draw, which was unbelievably our first draw in 9 games.

Pharmacy Kizuna had its belated SP Night on Tuesday, the 21st. Shimazu was a little depleted in our numbers, since the 4 MOH scholars were still away, and therefore we were a little subdued compared to the other OGs. Nonetheless, we did pretty well in the games. Xu Cong and her SP almost made it to top position in their Treasure Hunt game, courtesy of us "donating" our items, my glasses, watch and shoes included =p Meanwhile, Weixian did well in Fuzzy Bunny, surviving with 11 marshmellows in his mouth. We went for beancurd after everything ended.

We had a very welcome break from dance practice on Wednesday. Went to VivoCity in the afternoon followed by tian2 ji1 zhou1 dinner at Outram area later in the evening. It was my first time actually eating that, and it had a curious texture that was something of a cross between chicken and fish, but it was delicious nonetheless.

Stayed over at NUS for dance practice on Friday, and while we initially planned to end by 11pm it dragged all the way to 1am. Went for prata at Fong Seng (or whatever that place near Kent Ridge Terminal is called) and by the time we were all washed up and ready to sleep it was nearly 4am. The next day we were understandably tired, and not to mention it was our first practice with the float itself, plus the fact that we learned quite a few new moves on Friday itself, it all contributed to a performance that was rather below our expectations, to tell the truth. Thankfully, we did improve over the week, but I guess there is still a lot we need to work on. More on that later.

Went to Sentosa with Zuo Yi and his army friends plus Daphne, her friend Fang Xian, and Ashvin on Wednesday the 29th. We wanted to play beach soccer and volleyball, but ended up just nua-ing for quite a while because the sand was incredibly hot it was like walking on hot coals (naturally we couldn't resist the opportunity to poke fun at Ashvin about that). Some NTU group was having their orientation games there, which I believe was CAC or one of the halls. In any case, they provided some entertainment while we had nothing to do, but I guess some parts and cheers did get a little annoying. We did end up playing beach soccer anyway, but we took frequent breaks due to the hotness of the sand. Then it was a quick dip in the water, then some volleyball, then more soccer, and more volleyball again. In between we stopped for a quick beer, courtesy of Timothy. Finally, we left in the evening for Tim's place at Sentosa Cove. And his place was awesome. Nice architecture, resembling some European (Spanish, I learned later) courtyard, cute pet dogs (lol), a private pool in the backyard, an excellent sea view, luxurious furnishing, etcetera. We also went up the attic and to the roof to enjoy the view of the setting sun. After loads of photo-taking and admiring the house, our food finally arrived, and we all feasted on the KFC and pizza we had ordered. In addition there was crab, pudding, and durian ice cream (:

Pictures to come soon, I think. I hope =p

Stayed over again for dance yesterday. It was definitely more successful than last week, but we had to get used to the costumes and makeup, which we were putting on for the first time. The coffee-stained singlets made us itch, the bangles we wore were easily damaged, and we had to put on the horror that was camo cream all over again, but despite all our complaints the costumes weren't bad. I guess beneath all our discomfort we really do appreciate the hard work spent in creating the costumes, so kudos to the costumers (:
