Right, sorry for the delay =p

Anyway, back to Day 3 of the Bintan Trip haha. You know the feeling of waking up and knowing that you can do nothing for the rest of the day if you want to? In short, waking up in a very nua mood. That's a great feeling =p

But anyway it would have been a tremendous waste to just slack the day away, so we started off with our buffet breakfast. And this time, we remembered to take pictures! Somehow the food was better than it looks in our pictures though.

After breakfast, we made our way down to the resort's Go Karts track which was a short ten-minute drive away. I've never been to the Escape Theme Park Karts, but apparently according to the others that would have paled in comparison to this. It was exhilarating; it's like racing in cars minus many safety rules, and it felt great screeching past the big turn of the track at close to max speed which made your body lean left due to inertia. It was also thrilling to try to negotiate the S-bend while maintaining a decent speed, which often left your body jerking left and right uncontrollably. Most fun of all was trying to overtake others, which sometimes ending up in collisions into others and/or the tyres lining the track. We did each end up with blue-blacks on various spots of our body, but it was otherwise very safe to hit that accelerator as hard as you can =p

Next we went to Pasar Oleh Oleh for lunch. The food was good at decent prices, and we even had entertainment while we had our meals, as two people came to sing for us 25 Minutes, More than Words and Top of the World =p

Most part of the afternoon was spent nua-ing and swimming at the Villas pool, and then we made our way down to the beach resort again for banana boating. Basically we sat straddling the long float and held on to a plastic handle on the float as the boat was dragged by a speedboat across the sea. It looked easy when we saw others doing it, but we never saw what happens when the boat leaves the beach =p

Basically, we capsized twice as the speedboat made turns that were too sharp. The first time we were caught completely unaware. The float leaned over very quickly after a particularly sharp turn and the next thing we knew we were all drinking water and scrambling to get to the surface of the sea. We tried to avoid another capsize again by strategically leaning our bodies over to counter the leaning movements of the float, but couldn't avoid capsizing another time after a nasty turn. Ash, Daphne and Zuo Yi laughed at us when we came back to shore, but it was our turn to laugh at them as they capsized about three or four times themselves =p

We had a short session of volleyball, then quickly returned to wash up at our villa before going to the main lobby again. We were picked up by a driver we hired, and we were taken on a close to half an hour drive to Kelong Restaurant, where we had our dinner. That wasn't really a restaurant name, the restaurant was literally a kelong. The food was guaranteed to be fresh, for they only brought up the seafood to cook after we have placed our orders. We ordered a total of nine dishes, and between the six of us we only had to pay 15 dollars each, which seemed pretty cheap to me. There was chilli crab, lala, gong-gong, etc. In short, a hell of a feast. Look at the mess we left behind heh

Since we had some time before the three hours of hiring the driver was up, we dropped by a roadside stall to have some durians before we returned to the lobby.

That night, we stayed up playing board games and card games. Dilbert was a fun but somewhat retarded board game which felt like an extended session of reading Dilbert comics, while we had our usual fun with the Monopoly card game. All while snacking and drinking to our heart's delight. Mmmm.

The last morning, it was Ashvin and Jun Yan's turn to prepare a meal, as they made a breakfast of toast, baked beans and milo for us. It was all decent except for the milo. Total volume of milo? Six cups. Total milo powder added? Eight sachets =p

After breakfast we proceeded to (sadly) check out of our villa. We slacked at the resort pool for a while, then proceeded to the resort centre where the girls went to shop while the guys played a game of basketball at the court... with a volleyball. It worked anyway, and despite the fact that none of us really played basketball we had a ball of a time, pun kind of intended. After that we had lunch at the resort centre, and I shopped for some souvenirs with Sophia while the rest went to the resort's pool. We joined them later though, and we all enjoyed a nice long swim first at the pool and then at the beach, before returning to Singapore that night. There was a little drama at Bintan Ferry Terminal, where we were almost not let on to our ferry as we were almost late for checking in after spending a little too much time at the Bandung Factory Outlet Shop (interesting name).

And that sums up our trip! It feels a little nostalgic already, looking at the pictures we took. I'll definitely miss this trip for years to come (:
