Finally posting about the Bintan Trip, in greater detail...

We met up at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal early in the morning to catch our ferry to Bintan. It felt strangely like being on a Penguin Fastcraft heading towards Tekong. Upon arrival, we took the shuttle bus to Nirwana Gardens, but since it was still too early for checking in we left our luggage at the lobby and proceeded to the beach to relax first. That's what I call a real beach - unbelievably soft sand and clear waters, a far cry from the rubbish strewn sands and murky waters of Singapore. I'm sorry Singapore, but that's the harsh truth (:

Played beach soccer on a small sand pitch by the beach =)

Then it was time for lunch! A picture speaks a thousand words, so here's three thousand words to describe our lunch =p

After lunch, we finally checked in to Banyu Biru Villas. I would've preferred one of those villas overlooking the pond, but that's minor, for each villa was awesome anyway. It was so comfortable in our rooms then we proceeded to shower and take a nice nap before proceeding for other activities. Here's our very cosy looking living room:

We went over to the Resort Centre after that. First we played on the Trampoline, and it seemed you had the most fun out of the six of us =p Not to mention that you seemed to have helped their business by attracting other people to the place heh. Anyway, here's a somewhat unglam shot of me on the Trampoline. And yes, the groin does hurt haha.

Ashvin then went for Archery, but we shared the arrows around anyway so everyone got their turn at shooting. Apparently this was something Ashvin was better than all of us at, in addition to Wii Boxing haha. My first shot clipped the top of the board, and the arrow flipped dramatically and fell onto the floor some distance behind the board. Zuo Yi even had a shot that managed to hit the fencing way behind the boards =p

Next we went over to the Beach Resort for Kayaking. No pictures since we didn't have any waterproof cameras; such a shame. There wasn't any distinctive boundaries in the area, but I guess we rowed too far away for someone came along on a jetski and told us to row back to the beach area heh. The horizon looked really picturesque, like a picture straight out of a painting: The sky was rather cloudy, and the sun was partly obscured, but you could clearly see the sun's rays penetrating the clouds at certain spots. We rowed, lazed a little and enjoyed the view, then rowed some more, before lying on our backs on the kayaks. Then we threw kelp and seaweed at one another, or actually Ashvin mainly, until it was time for them to close. Then we returned to the beach and played beach volleyball, first amongst ourselves, then I played with the staff dudes there in a 3v3 game since they lacked a person.

Here's an awesome photo of you and I, courtesy of Daphne. I think this was the one she and Zuo Yi said was so beautiful it was "like a postcard photo" =p

After that we returned to our very comfortable villa. We prepared dinner for the rest! Black Pepper Spaghetti, garlic bread and campbell soup yum yum. It was actually really fun to cook together (:

The second morning we had buffet breakfast, but we forgot to take pictures heh. Guess we were all kinda hungry. After breakfast, we lazed by the pool before taking a short ride down to the Fishing Pond for, erm, fishing.

It was meant for kids, but we decided to fish anyway. It was good fun which shouldn't be limited to age in my opinion =p

By the way, Sophia and I were joint "top-scorers" with 16 fish caught each ;o

Ashvin did well too, but of course his fish were sized more like ikan bilis! Haha just kidding. He did well =p

Had to return to Singapore in the afternoon while the rest went to Pasar Oleh Oleh for massage (and motorbike rides). We returned that night just in time for Zuo Yi and Daphne's dinner of Udon, Soba and an interesting experiment on spaghetti cooked with garlic spread.

Gotta go now; shall post about days 3 and 4 in time to come!
