Random useless fact of the day: This is my 235th blog entry, the same as my block number -____-"
Can't describe how much I enjoyed the long weekend. Like I said, no matter how much you like your work, you still have to rest and recharge yourself every so often. Had another specs gathering on Thursday, with all but Kiat Tat present. We had dinner at KFC, and it was surprising how fast we came to a decision as to where to have dinner, considering we had always been indecisive when it comes to dinner. After dinner, we went to the arcade in search of our favourite spot-the-difference game, but the arcade didn't have that game, so we went round playing games such as Daytona (I won the first round, crashing several other people in the process, and in the end karma befell me as people kept crashing me in the second round), the basketball thingy (which most of us utterly failed at, except for John and Weiquan who beat the high score of the machine), and the drum machine. After the arcade session, we proceeded to Timbre for drinks, but there was a crazy queue, so we went to Ice Cold, this chui pub at SMU and got this beer called Super Dry, which was unexpectedly good and not dry at all (okay, I guess my humour is pretty dry though T_T). It was pretty boring there though, and we just kinda lazed around when we were not playing or watching people play pool. Went cycling at East Coast on Friday/Mayday/Labour Day, and boy was it crowded. There was hardly any room for manoeuvring at the central area of the park, and we had to cycle carefully for fear of running into other cyclists, bladers or pedestrians. Things got better the further we went though, and we went much much further than the central area. In fact, we went past East Coast Park, breezed along the park connector, past the incredibly long and straight track opposite the airport runway, and to Changi Beach Park. It's a nice feeling, resting there on our bikes, and watching the planes take off one by one. Incidentally, for some reason Singapore Airlines just seem to make the most noise. The entire journey to Changi Beach Park was (I estimate to be) about 10km, so together with our return journey, makes for a total of approximately 20km cycled, as well as a very sore butt =p Had our dinner at BK, then strolled about the park before sitting at the beach to just talk and enjoy the breeze (: Watched X Men Origins: Wolverine yesterday at Tampines Mall. It was a Saturday, but the crowd at TM resembled a weekday crowd more than it did a weekend one. I guess the crowds have all been drawn to Tampines 1. Oh well, I'm glad though, for it made it so much easier to navigate in TM, unlike in the past back when Tampines 1 did not exist. Anyway, the movie was good. There was truly never any dull moment, with the fight scenes coming fast and furious. There's also something inherently charming about prequels, the way they tie up all the loose ends, answer unanswered questions, and also in the cute cameos of characters which appear in the later films. Teenage Cyclops and Toad? Sweet =p Went to Zuo Yi's place for soccer yesterday, but we kinda botched our attempts at surprising him for his birthday. First he found the cake in the fridge, then there was the hand which took about an eternity to switch off the lights in his room =p In any case, happy birthday Zuo Yi! This is probably the last birthday you get to celebrate with us in a while. It kinda saddens me that my two closest friends are going to depart for the US in August for their tertiary studies, but I'm glad too that they are pursuing their dreams, so to speak. May we live long and prosper =p
