Had dinner with Weiquan at a coffee shop near to Queenstown MRT but to which I have never went before nor have I known of the existence of the place. In any case, he brought me to this char kway teow stall selling what was, simply put, the most awesome char kway teow ever. Or so he claims. We queued for about half an hour because the uncle apparently cooks it plate by plate, as though oblivious to the very long queue. In my opinion his income is only limited by the speed at which he cooks, because the queue was never ending. Wq's explanation is that the uncle was retired, his children were all grown up already, and he was basically in a stable and comfortable financial status, such that he cooks only because he wants to cook - it's his passion or something. It's the kind of story that makes you smile. In any case, the char kway teow really was divine, so the wait was worth it.
Met up again with Weiquan, as well as the rest of the (late as usual) gang to have dinner. It's amazing how we never get tired of reminiscing about the same old army experiences. After dinner we went to Paradiz to play LAN, but couldn't find a place that had good computers and Left 4 Dead, this new game which we wanted to try out. So we ended up playing the usual games of CS and DOTA. Pity we started pretty late, and I didn't get to play that long with them because soccer (at Zuo Yi's place) was awaiting me =p On a completely unrelated and therefore very random note, I love hearing acoustic, live and alternative versions of Mraz's songs. If there's any artiste that sings as good if not better live, here's one (: Mraz is Not So Usual =p Yeah, video isn't so great. There's a period of time where the cameraman's (or actually, camerawoman's) camera died =p
