Friday's half-day request by yours truly was granted, so I left work at 2 to play soccer at East Coast Park cage with Zuo Yi, the (as usual, very late) Ashvin and ZY's army friends, before the three of us went for dinner at the Japanese stall at Suntec's Food Republic (I'm not sure what exactly is the name of the stall), which was something like our little reunion dinner for Ashvin.

Zuo Yi drove Ash's car for the first time, showing off his newly licensed driving skills (and lack of confidence in parallel parking, too) by driving us for supper - delicious beef kuay teow topped off with an additional plate of oyster omelette. After that was back to ZY's place to watch Man Utd vs. Tottenham, which Man Utd won 2-1 with Tottenham scoring first early on in the match to give Ashvin a scare, who nonetheless continued his habit of falling asleep towards the end of the match anyway.

Anyway, my CNY eve reunion dinners have always been within our family itself instead of with the extended families of my paternal or maternal sides, so they're usually quiet and cozy affairs at home with a mini steamboat kind of dinner, but since my sister is currently studying in Canada, dinner was extra quiet today. Either that or there doesn't seem to be a very CNY-ish atmosphere in the air this year, somehow.

In any case, atmosphere or not, here's wishing everyone a happy Year of the Ox. May all your wishes come true ;o
