I came back from Malaysia on Saturday night, and for once I have pictures to spruce up my blog entry heh. I guess it helps to take the initiative to set up a file sharing site so everyone can upload their photos easily, rather than wait for things to happen. Like, where are my Thailand pictures? >:(

We departed on Thursday morning and took a five-hour bus trip to KL. On the way, I watched Spiderman 2 yet again - that must have been the third time I've watched it I think; and also watched 200 Pound Beauty. Maria, ave Maria (:

Upon arrival, we checked in to the hotel before going for shopping at Suria KLCC. We ended up having lunch at A&W, because we wanted to try their food since they have long gone extinct in Singapore. Pity the portion was a little too, well, little. It was mainly the root beer float which made us full, instead of the burger or the fries. Delicious, nonetheless. I used to have A&W's at Blk 201 back in Sec 2, and till now I'm still wondering about that Nasi Lemak in their menu, since they claim to sell all-American food.

Dinner was at Manhattan Fish Market, which had prices that were the same as Singapore's in terms of absolute numbers, but since we're talking Ringgit here, things were cheap. Hence our choice of dinner. After dinner, we went shopping at Chinatown, before returning back to the hotel for cards and the usual stuff you do in hotel rooms (I suppose), but not before grabbing some Ramly burgers from a roadside stall that happens to be situated right at the entrance of a Macdonald's outlet. At least there wasn't a stall selling fried chicken wings outside KFC.

We moved to Sunway Pyramid Tower Hotel on Friday morning, before going down to Sunway Lagoon Amusement Park for the afternoon. The first ride we went on was the roller coaster, The Lost City of Gold. The slow climb was anything but an indication of what was to come, for the first drop simply caught us all by surprise, if not ten grown men (hey, they say you turn from boys to men in the army, and we've ORDed, so there you go) wouldn't be screaming. Here's the priceless on-ride photo we got. Yu Fung has the serial-killer-strangling-someone expression, Weiquan looked as though he had just seen a ghost, and Daniel just looks tickled. Of course, Yu Fung can be forgiven for being that terrified, since he had strangely forgotten that there exists something called the seat belt.

We spent our time on a few other rides, including a mini Ferris Wheel which was really quite small, but was quite high up because we were on high ground, and on which we took a hilarious video of William expressing his fear of heights =p

Following that, we paid 25 Ringgit to enter the Scream Park, which was a horror ride, so to speak. Actors dressed up as ghosts would pop up and scare us, and Kiat Tat got a stern warning from one of them for touching them, since we were not supposed to do so for the safety of the actors. It wasn't really scary, and it was made less scary by our "spoilers". We would shout "oh! oh! There, I saw one of them", and then waved hi to the actor we spotted when he/she popped up to scare us. On other occasions, we would shout "ORD LOH!" when one of the actors tryies to scare us by screaming at us. In any case, that was quite a waste of 25 Ringgit, unfortunately.

The water park was arguably the most fun. We swam for a bit, before going on the various water slides. There were four water slides for 2-persons-to-1 floats, as well as a slide for us to glide down on personal mats. All were equally exciting, if not short. I guess I'm a little too light, for I flew up several times on the individual slide, scraping my elbow in the process. John and Daniel, meanwhile, had too great a weight difference, resulting in their float flipping over and, subsequently, the two of them sliding down a portion upside down.

The rest of the trip was spent shopping, shopping, and more shopping, mostly at Sunway's massive shopping mall, and, in turn, mostly at the Factory Outlet Shop, which was full of bargain buys. Hmmm. I sound like some tourism promoter heh.

All in all, it was a great trip, and a nice way to celebrate our ORD. Time to find a job now that I'm back ):
