Happy belated birthday Singapore! Watched the National Day Parade at home, on TV. It was a surprise to see Shamsuddin (is he already a SWO, or is he still a MWO? I didn't manage to see clearly) as the Parade Sergeant Major. For your info, he was my Officer Commanding (OC) back in SISPEC.
Yeah, random picture of him I found off Google Image Search. Apparently he's now a RSM or something somewhere, so I guess he got promoted since then. Sorry for being vague, but I couldn't understand the Chinese military terms (my parents were watching the Channel U telecast). Good performances as always, with the Black Knights impressing with their high-G manoeuvres and the Red Lions' standard performance wowing the crowd, save for one guy's tumble as he landed, after which the cameraman turned his attention to a laughing man. Shame on him, laughing at the parachutist's fall. Still oblivious to the fact that his evil-ness has be caught on national TV >:p And, of course, the fireworks never fail to dazzle haha. To think a year ago, I was directing traffic at the Esplanade during the actual parade heh. I miss those days of bringing Primary 5 students to the NE Shows, and all my other involvement in NDP 07 (: Anyway, I finally got round to starting my pre-course assignments for AESC heh. The course seems kinda far away still, but then again with my ETEP at Thailand taking up a good three weeks, the time I have is actually rather short. In fact, it's just the week after coming back from Thailand if I exclude the time I have from now till I fly off. Went to Terminal 3 for the first time (believe it or not) on Friday. The place was like the other terminals - well furbished. But either the place was bigger, or there were too few people, which made it seem kinda empty. Anyway I miss the days studying at the airport with Ash, Deslie and Zuo Yi before the O Levels heh. Watched Belgium v China in Olympics soccer earlier. It was a little frustrating trying to listen to the commentary. Sure, it was dual-sound, but I can't make out any Belgians from the Chinese commentary, while the English Commentator pronounciation of the Chinese' names were a little weird. I guess they need a bilingual person to be commentator heh. A Singaporean would have been useful ;o
