Went out with Ashvin to buy some stuff at Suntec on Friday. We discussed our usual somewhat mundane topics of games, scouts stuff, army and soccer, but it was a nice chat nonetheless. Ashvin indulged himself with the only copy left of a Fossil wallet which was atrociously cheap at $24, being the most discounted item in the shop's GSS corner heh. He ridiculously accepted the staff's offer to wrap it up, only to unwrap it barely half an hour later to retrieve the wallet. Geez =p

Dinner was at Eastpoint. Lesson learned: when you reach a meeting place, always contact the person or people you are meeting. I ended up waiting at the MRT Station for 45 minutes, when you were at Starbucks for about the same duration of time. Granted, your friend was there, but still =p
Wanted to try out Eighteen Chefs at first, but the place was too crowded. Instead we had jap food at a place called Kobayashi Hanggul. Apparently the place had been there all this while, but I have never noticed it because it was tucked away at a corner of the second floor of the mall. Hmmm. Shall explore EastPoint more thoroughly next time. I haven't ventured much into the expanded part of the mall yet, after all. Had a good chat after dinner.

Attended Zhi Heng's birthday party yesterday. He had actually moved out from that apartment once, only to move back, but I haven't been to his new house, so it felt as though he never moved. Amazingly I located his apartment without any wrong turns. There were his Nexus friends, scouts friends, and the guides, most of whom I have not seen in ages, save for some of the scouts. Can't believe the last time we had a birthday party at his house was six years ago, when we were still in sec 2. I feel old :D
Inevitably, most of us stuck mainly to our own little groups, and neither was I social enough to talk to some friends whom I've not seen for some time :x

Just finished reading Halo: Contact Harvest. Not as good as Eric Nylund's work in the series, but at least it wasn't as dull as The Flood. The book only started getting interesting and absorbing towards the latter half of the book, where the conflict between the Covenant and humans went full swing. Overall though, the book was quite a significant read. Though it disputed with the events of the other books, this alternative plot contributes much more to explain the existing state of events. Shall look forward to the sixth and final book of the series, The Cole Protocol.

One must never underestimate the magnitude of the effects of a simple action or event. It might seem lame to just pick up your phone and message someone to ask how the person is. Sure, usually people might find it annoying to answer such "how's life?" questions, but hey, the fact that it shows there's someone who cares makes up for it. At least, for me. And, on the same note, thanks for Friday's dinner. You've probably heard this several times by now, but all the little things in life are very important to me yup (:

And it's also just like you said, as we get older the more people we'll miss eh. Meetups and get-togethers are priceless!

"And it's okay if you have go away
Oh just remember the telephone works both ways"
