For the first time at 30 SCE I ventured beyond Pioneer Road, Pioneer Mall and Jurong Point for nights out to go Vivocity =p
After Food Republic lightened our pockets considerably and filled up our stomachs, we just sat down at the amphitheatre thingy outside. Glaring lighting aside, it was actually a pretty cozy place to just chill out. In any case, I had a good chat =) Following that I went back to camp thinking of a having a looong sleep, but I got caught up in the office watching a movie with the rest till past midnight instead heh. It was a show called "Me, myself and Irene", and it was hilarious. No surprise there, since it starred Jim Carrey. It's about a Rhode Islands State Policeman called Charlie who has been taken advantaged of and looked down on by other people all his life. After he thought he had found happiness when he married, his wife ended up cheating on him with a black dwarf limo driver, giving birth to three black kids before leaving with the limo driver. Charlie was left to raise the three expletive-spewing but yet highly intelligent children. Over time, his anger at everyone slowly built up to unbearable levels within him, causing the creation of a split personality, someone called "Hanks" who was extremely crude, uncouth, and violent. Thinking that he needs a vacation, the Police Force gets Charlie to escort a woman named Irene to Upstate New York. But as it is, Irene was wanted dead by some hitmen, and Charlie and his alternate personality are called upon to save the day. I thought Carrey's portrayal of both personalities was really outstanding. Oh, and great facial expressions too x) Caught the return match of Singapore vs. Uzbekistan (oh my I actually got the spelling right on my first try) at Zuo Yi's house yesterday, joined by Zirui who also drove Hongyi along and who had an interesting experience trying to parallel park =p Concurrently, we watched Ivanovic beat Safina (whose sole supporter in the house was Zirui) to win her first Grand Slam title. I don't watch tennis much, but it was pretty enjoyable to watch I guess. Next we watched the Swiss put up a valiant fight against the Czech Republic, but nonetheless they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat, much like Singapore, except that Singapore was on foreign soil of course. Aaaand today I went to E!Hub at Downtown East for the first time. The place was reasonably crowded, but I still felt comfortable and relaxed. It wasn't the hectic kind of crowd you'd find at, say, Tampines Mall or in town, and I appreciated it. I think I tend to take a step back and feel the vibe of the place whenever I set foot in anywhere heh. Had a long lunch at PastaMania, and I mean long, for we sat there from about two to half past four. We ate so slowly that there was practically no one left after we were done, so we had no reason to leave. Instead we sat flipping through yearbooks and playing hangman aha =p Then we watched Indiana Jones. It was a pretty charming and nostalgia-inducing movie, putting Transformer's Shia Lebouf's character Mutt alongside the now older and wiser Jones. It kinda reminded me of National Treasure, but I think it was more of National Treasure being like Indiana Jones than the other way round heh. Didn't have a chance to go on this though: ![]() Harsh reality sets in next: time to go home, have dinner, and book in :( Overnight training this week! Jiayou to me >:(
