What a hectic week. Combat Shoot on Monday ending at past midnight, waking up at 4am to be the ammunition part for live firing on Thursday... an average of 4 hours of sleep on most days. In addition, our OC, 2IC, CSM, two Platoon Sergeants, two Platoon Commanders and two other Section Commanders were not around. That also means that I am to stand in as Platoon Sergeant for my platoon. Lots of administrative work followed. Not to mention having to re-plan guard duties for the men, duties of which had to be changed very often much to my chagrin due to people getting medical status and medical appointments and driving tests and whatnot. Et Cetera. And that's the tip of the iceberg. Perhaps it was partly due to such a hectic schedule that I came down with a slight fever on Friday.
EDIT: Strange, I think there are other factors causing the fever. That's because many people have already fallen victim to it. Nicholas, CCK and a few others last week, plus Wai Houng and Chee How just called me to inform me that they are having fevers and can't return to camp tonight. Perhaps it's got to do with contaminated water? We were told (when we returned to the camp from Seletar Camp) not to drink any water from the battalion's buildings, but this order was later canceled. Now that I've got these rants out of the system, I feel better. Every cloud has a silver lining I guess, and this week should be better, hopefully. Anyway, we, aka the Scouts from my batch had another of our (currently, weekly) meetings at SingPost Shopping Mall at Saturday. Dunstan, dubbed a FSL (aka Forever-Scout-Leader) by us, came down as well. We consolidated the previous meetings' discussions, and appointed specific people for the roles we had come up with for our batch. Interestingly, I'm now the Database Administrator, and earmarked to be one of the future FSLs heh. Partly because I'm going to a local university compared to, say, Zuo Yi. I've just started listening to John Vesely, an acoustic rock artist better known as Secondhand Serenade. Here's a song by him called Fall For You. It's the kind of song that can bring a tear to your eye when you're in an emo mood =)
