Met up with Zhi Heng, Zuo Yi, Ash, recently commissioned 2LT Liang Kai Xiang, Jun Yan and Noga yesterday regarding the Scout Troop. Long story behind the meeting... We've always been used to seniors being around to act as ALs, aka adult leaders or auxiliary leaders, but I guess the time is almost ripe for my batch to take over. The unit had been stagnating for a while. In fact, it has deteriorated somewhat. Each batch has become smaller in size, with the incoming Patrol Leaders' Council having a mere strength of 7 pax. Some patrols may also be, or may already have been shut down, down from the original 8. The promoting PLC has Scout Standard at best, whereas previously we had First Class Scout Standard when we took over. All the scouts in the unit haven't seen any Chief Commissioner's Award recipients. The Venture Unit was also non-existent. It was all a pretty huge mess so Zhi Heng rounded us up for a meeting to discuss how we can improve the situation.

Anyway the meeting didn't last too long, and Zy, Ash, Jy and I went to Katong Shopping Centre to play LAN. We played some C&C Tiberium Wars and then DOTA AI. Basically, four rusty players got trounced by the AI players ;o

After that I had dinner with Zy and his Career Planning Centre (a department under CMPB, you can say) friends. His treat! We devoured the Colonel (er, three crabs i mean), baby squid and other assorted seafood pretty quickly, and rushed off again to the chui pub near Zy's house to watch Arsenal v Liverpool. We only managed to catch the second half, and Liverpool once again conceded a soft goal from a set piece. Nonetheless, it was a point well earned =)

Just completed Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice for All today. FYI, the Phoenix Wright is a series of courtroom drama games in which the main character is a defence attorney named Phoenix Wright. In the games, you have to investigate crimes, gather evidence, and then put it all into good use in court, which is where the main action takes place. Prosecutors will call on witnesses which will make your defendants look guilty, and you will have to point out contradictions in their witness testimonies by presenting solid proof and evidence. Sure, some things are weird, such as the "guilty until proven innocent" notion of the game, but good plotlines, very endearing characters, good music, outstanding artwork, plus the fact that it stimulates my grey matter, makes the games addictive. Anyway, Justice for All paled in comparison to PWAA, but was nonetheless a great game. Still, the first three cases weren't that memorable, and there were several times where the evidence to be presented was kinda no-link, and I had to resort to trial and error. In retrospect, PWAA had three very memorable cases, and while still a challenge to play through, made more sense overall in terms of evidence to be presented. Look forward to playing the third instalment in the series, PWAA: Trials and Tribulations, as well as the fourth, which features a new character called Apollo Justice.

With that, it's time to book in again...
