I hate it when I have to be the "bad guy" and when I have to deliver bad news to people (though the bad news might not be my fault). But Friday was full of both. For one, I punished those who were present in my platoon on that morning with having to book in by 2100 hrs instead of 2300. Reason? For being still soundly asleep when it was already five minutes past the fall-in timing in the morning. I guess my tolerance finally ran out and I've decided to dish out real punishment instead of empty threats. Still, it didn't feel so good and some of the men were pissed.
Later on in the day, as my platoon asked me to help them check out who were the guard commanders on Saturday, I realised that there were none. Our CSM had forgot to plan for the guard commanders on that day, and a quick check with the other companies confirmed that we had to make a last minute arrangement for three commanders to come back on Saturday to do guard duty. Conveniently (but very unfortunately, may I add), exactly three people were available - nothing more, nothing less. And so I had to tell Joon Hong, Hong Jun and Weiquan that whatever plans they had for Saturday, those plans were busted. It felt awful delivering such news to them, but thankfully I managed to work out some "compensation" for them with PS2. Namely, off-days given to them next week. We also changed their duties for May by removing their weekend dutie. Yours truly took one of the Sundays =) Met up with the J1 Venture Scouts on Friday evening at Paya Lebar Mac to find out their interest level in our plans. Subsequently, we went to Zuo Yi's house yesterday to come up with clues for the "Amazing Race" hike that we were planning to have for the Scouts in the upcoming June Camp. We managed to come up with a few inspired ones, including anagrams, hidden messages in a passage about Death Note and another passage of gibberish as well as a Professor Layton (that's a Puzzle Game for the Nintendo DS, by the way) inspired puzzle. Later in the afternoon, I met up with Zirui, Hong Yi, CK and Wenyang to catch Harold and Kumar at Century Square as well as Man Utd v Chelsea later in the evening at Wy's house. Last stop was Zuo Yi's house yet again, for the Liverpool game against Birmingham. Harold and Kumar was hilarious. The math poem featured in the movie was a blast, but I couldn't find a complete version if it online. I'll put it up if I can find it ;o
