Had a rather fulfilling week =)

We graduated from CECC at Seletar Camp on Thursday and returned to Jurong Camp on the same day. I think I'll miss the place's rustic environment, less regimental atmosphere and, perhaps most importantly, the proximity to home (which allows me to go home on nights out days!) Anyway William, John, Weiquan and I went for prata supper mid-week which was somewhat our last nights out at Seletar Camp. As we stumbled upon a soccer trading card game called Match Attax at 7-Eleven, it somehow led to William and Weiquan spending a combined 28 bucks on several booster packs and a starter pack. Talk about impulse buying! Heh Weiquan had tough luck though as William picked up all the good cards, namely Jamie Carragher and the incredibly good Steven Gerrard, while Weiquan had to contend with less impressive star players such as Andrew Johnson.

We had another nights out on Thursday, the day we returned to Jurong Camp. Nicholas, Daniel, Ying Jie wanted to go to Chevrons to sing and drink, while Wee Hung and William were okay with the idea, so I tagged along as well despite the fact that I simply fail at singing in my opinion. In any case, we had a good time. It was fun getting high on certain songs and becoming emo almost immediately after when the sad songs play. William's rendition of Jay Chou's Huo Yuan Jia was hilarious despite him singing quite well. Perhaps it was because we never imagined that he would be able to pull off that ultra-high-pitch part of the song =p

Met up with Zuo Yi and Ash at Anglican High to meet the current Patrol Leaders' Council and Mr Jimmy Tan regarding what we discussed at our previous scouts meeting last Saturday. I thought the Secondary School students felt kinda young to me, and that must mean the reverse is true too - I'm feeling old =(
Anyway, we had Sakae Teppanyaki (to celebrate pay-day I guess?) after that at Tampines Mall. Yum yum!

In turn, we met up with the other scouts (or should I say former scouts? Oh well, once a scout, always a scout ^_^) yesterday at Princess Mac (as always, in the case of scout meetings) to brief them on what we have further discussed with Mr Tan as well as what we have found out about the troop from the Sec 4s. Apparently things are quite different from back in our days, but the situation wasn't that bad. Sure, there were fewer scouts, especially pertinent in the Sec 4 batch which had only 7 members, but this was countered by good attendance amongst the scouts. Et Cetera. We had quite a fruitful meeting and sketched up a rough plan and system of how alumni like us and the JC scouts (Ventures or not) could continue to contribute to the troop.

Rounded off the week with going to Bedok Central for lunch with my parents and my aunt today, where I got a new non-camera, army-usage phone to replace my ailing one. I was intending on getting a N6100, which I had used before, but my parents disapproved of second-hand phones, so I got an N1650 (Cheok's phone!), which was still good, but imo still pales in comparison to N6100 at the moment. Oh well. It doesn't even have a gallery to store tones or graphics >.>
