Last day of the year. Second last day of block leave =/

Spent the last few days... well, enjoying the last few days of my block leave I guess. Going Yishun with my mum on Wedesday, soccer with the other scouts (and a bunch of 22 year old strangers) on Friday, a "class" dinner with Ck, Zr, Hy and Wy at Spaghedees (however it's spelled) followed by chilling out at Timbre (great band, by the way), and watching soccer at Zy's place that night... As for today, I had turtle soup (ooh, for the first time. Yeah, my favourite animal... though soft shell turtles aren't quite the same) for lunchwith Zy's family and Ashvin, before playing soccer at The Cage with some guys from my platoon and Weiquan.

Bad news though. Despite being already understaffed, Nicholas and Jian Wen are expected to leave for their lifeguard course, which pretty much means that there will only be seven specs around when eighteen are needed. Which leads to me having to do standby duty for all three platoons, instead of just for my own platoon. Which means that I'll be doing standby duty once I get back to my army life, and won't stop till sometime past Chinese New Year, when we leave for our Construction Engineer Course. Darn.

It feels weird going back to army life after block leave. It was the same after BMT. In fact, I kinda dread having to return to that. Oh well, but it's 2008! The year I'm gonna ORD! Heh I guess knowing that makes things feel slightly better =)

In any case, here's wishing everyone a happy new year (in advance for almost everyone, and belatedly for Jeremy and all the other time travelling kiwis) and best wishes for the year ahead ^^
