And Thursday came and went, and we had completed our summary exercise. Tthe Commanding Officer of 30 SCE pinning that operational badge on our LBVs (and Wai Houng's SBO lol) to signify our company turning operational was definitely a proud moment for all of us =)
And with that, I look forward to good times ahead heh. No more exercises until... say, May? Mwahaha. This exercise was tough, due in no small part to the horrible weather. Basically it rained non-stop from day 2 all the way to the end of the exercise. Sleeping in the bushes, digging our "graves" aka shellscrapes, drenching ourselves in the rain, shivering in the 5-tonner, getting contacted by the enemy while clearing obstacles, rushing for time in our final task of the exercise which was defence... all these were memorable. But my ORD-ing PC's words were what made this is an exercise I won't forget. He said he didn't know if we were still fighting for him, but he wanted us to know that he had always fought for us, and as his last orders, he wants us to put in that last burst of fire to complete our defence mission. If you ever get a chance to read this, Lieutenant Benson Chong, you're the most outstanding officer I've met in my NS life =) Anyway, I attended my cousin's wedding today at Swissotel Merchant Court's ballroom. On the train, there was this guy blasting this worship song on his phone, and I was just commenting to my sister about my friend (Jian Wen) who would always blast such songs in the bunk, when I noticed a familiar looking guy in the background, in the opposite carriage... whom I realised was Jian Wen. Omg, shou cao cao cao cao jiu dao haha. The rest of the afternoon was spent gorging myself on the delicious food and red wine. After three weeks of combat rations, this was just what I needed to satisfy my nutrition needs mwahaha. Pictures to come next week ^_^
