UIP 4
Weiquan, Kheng Yong, Andrew, Kheng Yong Bear's Den 2 (Some random guy), (another guy) ...that was the final score of our friendly game against the Bear's Den. Our team comprised of all the new specialists aka third sergeants from Alpha and Charlie Company, while the opponents were senior specialists consisting of older section commanders up to and including Plant Coy's CSM. It was a tradition for the new specs to play against the Bear's Den, and apparently they had never lost to UIP opposition before... until now, that is =p We started off with practically no formation, but adjusted as the game wore on and settled on a back four of (from left) Kiat Tat, Daniel, Jie Sheng and Ching Hwa. Chee Yao took the right wing, William, Kun Lim and Weiquan filled up the middle, I took the left, and Andrew was our solitary forward. Wee Hung debuted in goal. Debuted, as in, he has never even played soccer before; he was a basketball player. We started the game on the losing end as we quickly conceded a freak goal from far range, but Weiquan's strike drew us level, before we conceded a soft goal with Wee Hung fumbling the ball behind the line. Then I equalised with a one-on-one with the keeper with the other defenders drawn away by the others who surged forward to support me. The second half saw Andrew score another goal for our team and me sealing the game with an extremely tyco goal from an angle on the left, stroking the ball to the bottom right of the net ;o The victory was sweet in that our foes were somewhat cocky and criticised our play before the game had begun. Moreover, it felt good to end their winning streak against UIP opposition ^.^ Anyway, the past week was rather draggy since I booked in as early as Saturday night for Sunday's guard duty. Pity this week won't be any better; Saturday's COS duty means that I will only be able to book out on Sunday morning. Boo =(
