Yay, long weekend to recover from the rigours of our first field camp. I'm sooo dreading the next field camp, and Exercises Wanderer and Grand Slam (aka the third and final field camp) after that. That's because Field Camp 2 ends on sunday morning, and we book in on that same sunday evening for Field Camp 3, aka the two Exercises to be conducted at our previous home, the sunny island resort known as Pulau Tekong. I can't imagine how I'm going to recover from the physical exertions of a field camp and wash all my clothes and equipment in time if we're given only half a day at home.
Went to Zuo Yi's house with Ashvin to see his new haircut and lack of hair and to watch the Arsenal-Fulham match. It felt great to laze on a comfy sofa (and later the bed), munch on junk food, watch a soccer match, and just chat with two great buddies. The following morning, as in yesterday morning, we went to play soccer with some Nexua people and the other scouts, all of whom had finally joined me in serving our country ;o Fact: Army boys just can't stop talking about the army. As we played, we'll stop at random moments and instantaneously army conversations will immediately spring up =p In the evening, I met up with Qh, Hy and Zr for dinner at Century Square's Jack Place, where we caught up on one another, talking about our uni applications, work (in Qing Hui's case), and our miserable NS-lives (in our case). After dinner we sat down at the Food Court to have teh tarik and paper prata and chatted some more. Have I ever mentioned how civilian life like this rocks? ;o
