Went to watch 300 with my platoon mates, PC Johnathan and sergeants Jonathan and Wei Kiat at PS on friday night. There was a little mythology thrown in with the history part of the Battle of Thermopylae, for there were weird creatures that you see only in Warcraft and LOTR. Still, it was an entertaining movie and the battle scenes were cool. I wonder why they have to make the beheading scenes slow-mo though. That seemed rather unneccessary to me and failed to create much impact. Anyway, after the movie, we went off on our separate ways to either LAN or pool... while some others, such as yours truly, went home for "body maintenance", aka sleep =p
The following day I was back at PS again, this time with ck and Eu, joined later by Zr and shu, and finally Cp joined us for dinner. Went to Minds after dinner for board-gaming.

Yesterday we had a "Scout Leaders' Meeting". Sounds very important and all, but it was just a simple meeting at Bedok Princess Mac heh. Anyway we discussed heaps of stuff. Soon 10 of us year 3s/soldiers/pre-enlistees will be Auxiliary Leaders of our Scouts Unit =O

Halfway through my block leave, enjoying every moment of it but dreading the end of it. Post-BMT life = confinements, guard duties, extra duties, field camps... urgh.

We are the bedrock of our army
Wanting to keep our people free
Committed to the independence of our nation
We are the men of the infantry

There'll never be a mountain too high
Or a route too tough for us
We'll about to rule the day and the darkest night
We'll never rest till the wrong is right

We are a special band of soldiers
Raised to guard our nation's shores
We base our lives upon a set of seven values
To defend our nation's cause

And when our country says she needs us
We're always there by her side
We will protect the lives of every Singaporean
For singapore we'll give our lives

Chorus:
From the land, air and sea
We'll strike our enemies
They have called us the queen of the battlefield
We are brothers in arms
We are brothers proud to be
We are the first, the one and only infantry
