Had our annual class bbq at Hong Yi's house. The event wasn't as lively as last year's, probably because fewer people turned up than last year, but it was still pretty fun. After buying food at TM NTUC we went straight to his house, into his room, and listened to Qing Hui's usual commentary about how Hong Yi has stockpiled plenty of hentai in his cupboard, while Lindy would explain that it's ecchi. Also read Hong Yi's SAF BMTC ePosting Order. Heh good life my friend - OETI might be Ordnance Engineering Training Institute, but it also means "Only Eat, Talk, Idle". Have fun =)
Played a bit of Starcraft on Hong Yi's laptop (the last time I played that was probably at least three or four years ago heh), then it was time to go down to prepare the syrup drinks, start the fire and stuff. Had a bit of problem initially because the Cock Brand Firestarters were really damn cock. Or rather, they were so old that they are no longer combustible. Then it was typical bbq stuff, albeit less lively than last year's event like I said. We were content to sit around, talk and eat. Guess we're too old for silly games and soccer =p The atmosphere improved as more people turned up, such as the latest botak to turn private, Mr Chong Zi Rui, who is apparently very gleeful that he is going to ROD in two years instead of ORD, which means that he won't even need to do a single second of reservist. Or outfield for that matter, for he describes his toughest training in his five day camp as scrubbing the staircase =p Later on Yao Min, Sher Li, Chris and J-Gan too arrived. Good to see everyone again =) Today was spent on packing, slacking and more packing. Gonna wake up super early tomorrow to go to Pasir Laba, which is right at the other side of the island. I don't even know much about how it's gonna be like and whether there'll be a confinement period, so all I know is that it's gonna be an advanced version of BMT. Oh well. Let's do things one step at a time. First I'll need to (once-again) adjust from a civilian life to a military life, then I'll need to adjust to a new living environment just like when I first enlisted into BMT on Tekong. I heard the old SISPEC camp back at Tekong was worse though. Too near to the jungle, so there was no civilisation to look at, and all sorts of insects can be found in your bunk. Plus reception was notorious so everyone has to scramble to the top floors just to call their loved ones. Hope Pasir Laba is better. Some say that BMT = chalet while SISPEC = hell, but others claim that the food there is machiam 5 star one plus bunks are spacious and nice to stay in. I shall see =O And if all goes well, Corporal in 3 months' time, Third Sergeant in half a year's time ;o Or if all goes a little too well, Corporal in 3 months' time, crossover to OCS, and 2nd LT in time to come.
