Went Yishun with my mum today! Haha there was no particular reason why, but we heard from my aunt that there's some stores there selling nice clothes, and since we had nothing to do this morning (I still can't believe I don't need to go to school) we decided to drop by. And fyi I did get a shirt ;o
Also fyi, I used to stay in Yishun, at the block very near to the MRT Station. I moved to Tampines just before going to Primary School. So I guess the place holds my earliest memories =p We went to the coffeeshop opposite the MRT Station, but the food there looked bleargh so we decided to walk to the nearby Chong Pang City to have lunch instead. I remember that place =) When my sis was in Nursery my mum would drop her off at the place before bringing me to Chong Pang, heh. That must be my earliest memory, and I was... three maybe? Anyway, we had (as in today, not in my childhood) lunch at the marketplace/food centre thingy. The food is cheap, unlike the audaciously priced food in Tampines. Char Siew Rice at $2, for instance. Mmmm. Walked around the place a bit after lunch. I always thought Yishun had a nice living environment. Sure, it's just another part of tiny tiny Singapore, but differences still exist between it and Tamp, imo. Maybe it's just me, but I feel that the place has cleaner air and somehow seems to be slightly more laidback. On the other hand, Tamp seems to be bustling with activity. In fact you can't even get off the MRT properly at peak hours, but then again that's probably true all around the country ;o Whether due to the above reasons or not, I really enjoyed myself despite the mundane nature of this little outing with my mum. It was really... (searches for the right word) nostalgic to walk about aimlessly around Chong Pang City. It'll be nice if I can get to live there again. Don't get me wrong, Tamp rocks too, albeit for different reasons. Sometimes the simplest things in life are the best things in life. Back home I always thought I wanted so much more, now I'm not too sure Cause sometimes I miss knowing someone's there for me and feeling free
