So... Steven Irwin, hugely popular Australian television personality and environmentalist known as the "Crocodile Hunter", has been killed by a stingray during a diving expedition. Well considering that he's been playing with all these animals which aren't exactly cuddly for some time already I thought he'll kena sooner or later. I mean, one day one of those alligators is gonna get pissed or something. Still, this news is rather surprising.
You can read all about it on Yahoo! News

In other news, I went for the 2006 PSC Seminar. And no PSC is not the sponsor of that programme with the kids' singing competition, it's the Public Service Commission. Hundreds of students were there. Some were nerdy (and one was reading something which looked like notes =o!) , many looked like bright students, and many more were dressed well, save for some who came in their school uniforms, oddly enough. Anyway the talk was interesting, particularly Mr Gabriel Lim's talk as he shared with us his experience studying overseas (and how he met his wife there lolol). Mr Lim is currently the Director of Industry Development and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health... heh sounds really important. As for the second sharing session by Ms Aris Toh... well she sounded like she had memorised the script and was merely regurgitating all the info out. She's the *takes a deep breath* Assistant Director of APEC, Americas, South Asia, Middle East and Africa Directorate, Ministry of Trade and Industry *pants*. Yeah that sounds important too. And she seems really young for something this important sounding. She must earn a lot of money =p
Well after the talks it was off to the numerous exhibition booths, and it felt as though I was back at VJ's career fair as people made a mad rush for all the brochures, leaflets, pamphlets, and whatever merchandise those people at the booths had to give out. There was also the refreshments, which kept the parents occupied as the students roamed about.
To cut a long story short, I returned home with bags of stuff to add to my "collection" from VJ's career fair =|
