How nice to be able to slack, play games and just relax for a while after all that mugging. I know I probably should resume mugging once again pretty soon, but I guess a little fun couldn't hurt. Besides, I'd rather get back my marks before mugging. And I just realised I was out of point for one of the Bio S essay questions =/

Went to the pasar malam opposite TM/Century Square on Sunday night with my mum heh. It was the usual assortment of stalls, with the food stalls (Taiwan sausages and seaweed chicken and...) being my primary targets. There were clothing stalls with those Power Rangers shirts and fake Ronaldinho jerseys. There were game stalls where several people were trying to hit small targets with air rifles in order to win the prizes on display. One man leant so forward that he managed to hit the targets, netting him two soft toys. The shop keeper didn't really care though, and was content to stand there (a little in the way, I must say. I would duck if I were her, but no one hit her fortunately) and shout "last day last day come play come play" lazily. There was also a stall where an old man was supposedly selling fermented beancurd, and while it was kinda smelly in the vicinity of the stall, I wasn't sure if he was selling the real stuff, after all his badly translated sign read "smelly tofu". Anyway, eventually I bought a pair of socks since holes are popping up in every imaginable place on my current pair, before returning home to catch the Singapore Idol Grand Final. And, while we're on that topic, I'm kinda surprised Hady won by such a huge margin. I must say this season is similar to last season, in terms of the top three. Even Jasmine got a little, er, well-rounded towards the end (to match Olinda).

Yesterday, went over to CK's house in the morning to play board games with Zr and Eunice. I enjoyed some good luck in the (rather silly) Game of Life, until Zr took a few of my Life cards after the three of us retired. I could have won if not for that. Then I lost all my luck when it came to a game of Monopoly, which took like forever may I add. What with going into jail regularly, never seeming to land on any un-owned property, and being victimised by Ck and Zr's collusion, I ended up with the least amount of assets at the end of the game (well, not really the end, since Monopoly games can't really end). =(

The afternoon was spent at Suntec. We first had lunch at Kenny Rogers, and once again I failed to finish my macaroni and cheese, though no one else finished their food either. After that we went to the arcade, discouraged Eunice from playing that sweets-machine, money-waster or whatever that machine was, and started with a game of Daytona, which I finished first thanks to a burst of acceleration to overtake CK at the last moment =) Next Ck played some shooting game and killed as many civilians as the "bad guys", before he got beaten resoundingly by Eunice at some drumming game, and in addition everyone got thrashed at Bishi Bashi by Eunice.

As for today... well I completed Final Fantasy VI =D

Here's the opening video:
Click me!

It's a really good game, with a lot of character development and 14 permanent playable characters. I wish there was a sequel. Like warmech.net (a Final Fantasy fansite) stated, it's most deserving of a sequel, since there are so many characters to work with, even if they exclude the 14 main characters. For instance, they can let us use General Leo more, instead of controlling him for 5 minutes so that he can wave his four swords at Kefka and... *spoiler*.

Anyway the final scenes are interesting, with Kefka once again being the insane villan that he is. Also, there were four final bosses instead of the usual one, and you had to fight them all one after another, non-stop. Well you can actually argue that there are two final bosses, since the first three are pretty much joined up by some weird devices, whereas the last boss is Kefka himself. Speaking of which, the first three bosses are pretty ugly. In fact I have no idea what I'm fighting, for they look like giant hands, animals and facial parts all mashed together.

And, by the way, this is Mog ;o
