Geez my last update was ages ago. So was CK's, but I'm glad he has updated his, though he could have left out the part suan-ning Zr and I about having S Paper while they're out playing T_T
Speaking of that, the Prelims are (finally) over! I don't think I did too well this time, after all I was still playing plenty of Football Manager and Final Fantasy VI while the exams were ongoing D= Most of the papers were not too difficult, but the time was too short for us to complete comfortably. Particularly Chem 3, where I had no time to analyse any of the NMR spectrums or Mass Specs... in fact all I wrote was "complex multiplet implies a benzene ring". To think I knew the structures of the compounds too, but had no time to explain everything. Damn. Bio 3 was supposed to be easy since it was sheer memory work and data analysis, but I guess I didn't memorise too thoroughly. I forgot to mentino the Dartos Muscles; I could not remember any scientific names for an example of a species from Kingdom Fungi and had to write "mushrooms" (yes, laugh if you want to); I spent 10 minutes trying to decide if Hormone X was LH or HCG. Bio S wasn't difficult because... well the questions were a little GP style. Good thing I took time out to read about the ethical issues of Biotechnology. I almost had a mental block when I first saw the paper though. The only piece of knowledge I recalled then was Hong Yi's discovery that "SUNFLOWERS CAN REMOVE URANIUM HAHAHA". Thankfully all the gene therapy, thoracic presure and whatnot came back to me. The "best" was saved for the last, as I sat for the Chem S paper, with Zr, CK and pretty much everyone else messaging me just to tell me how they were celebrating the end of prelims, and were out having fun while I have to learn stuff like the Nernst equation. Not that all the mugging helped; the paper was insanely difficult, and the entire Physical Chemistry section was impossibly tough. If there're any papers which I have utterly no confidence in, it's this paper D= But oh well, after all that ranting, I'm going to forget about the prelims and the impending A's to relax for a few days at least (I'm afraid that the 'few days' will become 'few weeks' D=) . Joined Zr, Ck and Eunice at Minds Cafe after my paper for some brainless but nonetheless fun game involving grabbing coloured sticks and hoping monkeys don't fall down. After that we went for dinner, but we couldn't decide on what to eat even after wandering around for some time, and we ended up at Vila'ge Restaurant, the Marche clone that took over from Marche at Heeren. The food was good, but we'll be abstaining from pizza for some time after that flour-filled horror. Wandered around aimlessly yet again after that, with me feeling weird since I was still in school uniform. Anyway, stop imagining things Eunice; that little drink (which requires one to be 18 and above to purchase, and shall remain un-named) did not make you red. It's so mild =| Played soccer today, and boy was my fitness crappy. It was fun initially. I really missed the fun of soccer, and today's session was made even more fun since most of the scouts were down this time, whereas we rarely got people like Ying Hui, Gerald (who was wearing a "Suhadi" jersey over his "Gerald" Falkens jersey. Weird.), Kai Xiang and Xing Long down. Oh, and did I mention how satisfying goal-scoring was? Hehe. Somehow my goals were all from my left foot though. But then my crappy fitness level set in, and I couldn't last until late noon somehow, and thus played badly as I constantly tried to regain my breath and prevent my left leg from cramping. Oh well I'll need to exercise more ;o
