Lol. Procrastination +1. Haven't bothered to update much due to procrastination, caps lock, bold and underlined.
So... let's recall what I did in the past two to three weeks or so... Ah yes, the NS Medical Checkup =p That was two Thursdays ago, if I remember correctly. YM, HY and I went to CMPB together, and once there we just had to follow the signs and go to the various stations. Blood test, hearing test, eyesight test, X-ray, dental examination, EGR scanning, and the dreaded "consultation aka drop-your-pants-cough-twice room". The army personnel there were engaging one another in their "usual talk". This guy was telling the other about how they should get circumsized to "keng", another guy about how this person likes to act tua (big), etc. After all the medical examination stations, the last stop was the vocational assessment center, where we had to take a series of psychometric tests. There were too many people present, however, and we were told to go for a "three hour lunch break" T_T The following day was a "class outing" of some sort. We (we, being YM, HY and I again, plus CP, Lindy, Eunice, Rachel, Shuting & Geraldine) had volunteered to help TLC Student Care Centre on a one-day excursion for the kids. Yeah, I had volunteered despite my bad experience with kids at the Temasek Primary Youth Development Camp =p In the morning we visited Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve. Most of the kids were actually rather well-behaved, a far cry from some of those at Temasek Primary. In fact, the worst thing that these two boys ever did was to argue over Pokemon. I didn't know whether to feel proud or ashamed that I could correct all their incorrect facts about Pokemon (lol only Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza cannot enter the Battle Frontier!). Then - bad news; it started to rain very heavily when we got there. I was surprised how I was the only logistics person. By the time every one of those ten or so boxes and plastic bags were unloaded from the bus (with some help from YM and HY), I was totally drenched. Then a TLC staff member offered me a rain coat when I was done -_-" Like, !@#(*&(*!@&( Since the stuff had been unloaded already, and being the "logistics guy", I thought I had some free time after that. Turned out I had to be babysitter as well, taking care of the kids (the real naughty ones, which I didn't notice earlier on) who were punished for not bringing their umbrellas or rain coats. I had to drag them all (literally, for one of them) to the Souvenir Shop to keep them all from running away, and even then they were all over the place. They spent the next 45 mins or so getting their money fleeced by purchasing the $1 potato chips (I could get those at a mama shop for $0.50 at the most), $2 per tiny scoop ice-cream, and other items on sale. Then, as they ate, some made a mess, some played "catching", some ran away... well let's just say I'll never be able to be a good kindergarten teacher =x In the afternoon we visited APSN Centre for Adults. Ah, it was a great experience. We learnt how the people there collected old paper products, recycled them, made new paper, and thereafter made a variety of paper-based products like paper roses, bookmarks, etc. I must say I am impressed with their creativity and art skills. So much so that I bought a pencil holder (actually it is a cup, but I don't really trust the paint) and a... er, what do you call that piece of thing on which you put mugs/cups/glasses? K back to the present. Today I went to MMI, beside NUH, for a cardio-examination, basically a treadmill test. Funny that the letter instructed me to turn up in PE attire, for once I got into the test room, I was told to remove my shirt =p Anyway I had to lie down while two of the medical staff stuck lots of stickers, tubes, wires, etc. onto various parts of my torso. I felt like some test subject for some experiement, and for a moment I thought they were going to put adamantium claws in me. Anyway, once all the wires and stuff were attached properly it was time to step on the treadmill. Slow walk, normal walk, jog, and a fast jog (a cumulative total of 25 mins of walking and jogging non-stop) later, my test was done. The staff said I was fine, and with that my test was done. Now I can patiently await my final PES status, to be received via mail =) And, by the way, go Spain =O
