Barely five days after WY's surgery (yeah, his lung collapsed or something; poor kid), and it's the A Division Soccer Finals! WY decided to go, despite the fact that he still had several stitches on his chest =/

Anyway, we made our way down (ponning Bio 'S' on the way) to Jalan Besar Stadium with numerous other Victorians with the school's chartered buses. It was raining very heavily when we got there, so we had trouble finding proper seats at the South Gate (lolol Gareth Southgate). There wasn't any game going on, obviously, but the Red Shirts decided we should cheer anyway so we wasted half an hour, cheering on nothing but the rain. When the rain stopped eventually, the second half for the B Division Finals commenced (we thought it was the first half, but the half ended scoreless and the boys were already celebrating, so logically speaking that was the second half =/).

Finally, the actual game we've all been waiting for! We started off well (to my immense relief, for I had told Deslie that the game would be 3-0 in our favour at full time), but as the first half went on MJ's striker (No. 33), whom I think is called Zul (a national striker!), started to own us a little. In fact, he beat several defenders to score! MJ 1-0 VJC. In the second half, VJ started to show more desire. Then one of our players (was it Keefe?) burst down the right flank and took the ball into the ball, before shooting. The ball took a wicked deflection and lobbed MJ's slightly vertically challenged keeper. MJC 1-1 VJC!! We started to feel hopeful, but MJ's OTHER national striker, No. 35, took things into his own hands and scored a great solo-goal. MJ in the lead again. Henceforth VJ's revival began =D

In another of the team's forays forward, the ball seemingly cleared the line, but instead the "goal" was deemed to be not a goal. Instead, the referee sent an MJ player off (was it for handball?), and we had a penalty awarded. Unfortunately the shot was weak and was saved, but at the end of the day our numerical advantage counted. We got a corner and John Mark (sp?) drifted the ball in. It was chaotic in the box, but as the ball floated in someone planted a firm header to score VJ's third goal to put us in the lead. Towards the end we even added a fourth to rub chilli/sulphur into MJ's wounds. And with that, we've clinched the title!!! Woot, full day ahead =D
